Abstract
Abstract
This work reflects on the concepts of sleep and wakefulness, present in the poem “Ciudad sin sueño”, by de Spanish writer Federico Garcia Lorca, included in his posthumous book Poeta en Nueva York, published in 1940, and its poetic relationships, both in that book and in other earlier works of his poetry and plays. It will be observed how notions such as wakefulness and sleep were repeated topics, associated with a state of anguish consistently represented in the author’s poetics, from his youth to his literary maturity.
