Abstract
Abstract
When writing her biography of Lord Strathcona, to be published by the Dundurn Press in Toronto, the author was greatly impressed by the beneficial changes which her subject (not yet ennobled - he was still plain Donald Smith) brought about in the diet at Hudson's Bay Company trading posts in Labrador. The changes were as rapid as they were radical. Here she describes how they were effected.
