Obesity is a chronic disease that increases cardiovascular risk, with its own pathophysiology, requiring a specific algorithm for its assessment and risk stratification, in a context associated with multiple cardiovascular risk factors and comorbidities. The advent of drugs with enterohepatic mechanisms of action, which improve adipocyte function and, consequently, associated diseases, is changing thenatural history of the disease, requiring a comprehensive approach. This practical guide serves as a roadmap for clinical cardiologists in their daily practice.
