Abstract

The article presents the theoretical foundations and conceptual model of a system of psychological-pedagogical support for the professional self-determination of senior students in the context of psychological-pedagogical profile classes. The relevance of the study is determined by the gap between the state demand for early pedagogical career guidance and the insufficiently developed psychologically grounded mechanisms for its implementation. In accordance with the directive of the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, 5,000 psychological-pedagogical profile classes were opened across the country by 2024. However, the practice of their functioning reveals a number of systemic problems: duplication of programme content, insufficient practical orientation, and weak mentoring component. The proposed conceptual model is based on the activity-based systemic approach and is structured around three interrelated aspects. The structural aspect describes a three-level organisation of the system: an exploratory level (Grade 10), a meaning-forming level (transition to Grade 11), and an autonomous-activity level (Grade 11). The content aspect encompasses six forms of educational and professional activity: psychological-pedagogical intensives, professional internships, project-based learning, reflective practices, volunteer activities, and mentoring interaction. The functional aspect reveals mentoring as the system-forming mechanism integrating the meaning-forming, cognitive, activity-related and subjective functions of the system. It is demonstrated that mentoring relationships within the dyad 'university student – school studentʼ create a unique co-developmental space in which both participants advance along the trajectory of professional formation. The ultimate outcome of the system is the development of an informed, activity-grounded, and personally meaningful professional self-determination in senior students.
