Abstract
Abstract
This study seeks to evaluate Unified Treasury Account and Nigeria’s Economic Prosperity: Pre and Post Analysis. The scope is of the study is from 2008 to the last Quarter of 2025. The variables selected for this study are Unified Treasury Account [Independent Variable], Unemployment Rate [dependent variable]. An ex-post facto research design was employed in carrying out the research. Secondary data were collected on Unified Treasury Account [Independent Variable], Unemployment Rate, the dependent variable. The population of the study is the 62 revenue-yielding agencies listed as MDAs that make remittances to Unified Treasury Account. The study made use of descriptive approach using [Anova*] which is run on IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences [SPSS], in determining the effect of the independent variable on the response variable. The sources of data were secondary data, collected from National Bureau of Statistics, CBN quarterly and annual statistical bulletin. The study found out that Unified Treasury Account have no significant effect on Unemployment Rate The implication of this is that UTA (Unified Treasury Account) as an economic policy of Government has not been properly channeled into the economy in such a way that it can trigger economic growth. The study therefore, concluded that Unified Treasury Account, after its mandatory compliance, has no significant effect on economic growth in Nigeria. A component of the study's recommendations asserts that governmental initiatives aimed at alleviating unemployment should encompass: enhancement of skills and human capital development that will render individuals more adaptable within the labor market, provision of more substantial incentives for individuals to pursue and accept employment opportunities, and augmentation of capacity across various industries.
