Abstract
Abstract
PC+MoS2 nanocomposites were prepared and investigated. The UV-Vis absorption spectrum of the MoS2 nanopowder was recorded. Two broad absorption bands observed in the visible region indicate the presence of the 2H-MoS2 phase, which is the most stable and the most commonly occurring crystalline phase of molybdenum disulfide. In addition, the structure of the prepared PC+MoS2 nanocomposites was investigated by X-ray diffraction. The principal diffraction peak corresponding to the (002) plane of MoS2 further confirms the layered structure of the material. This peak is characteristic of the stacking of MoS2 layers and represents the main diffraction reflection of the layered crystal structure. The obtained results demonstrate that layered MoS2 nanoparticles act as an effective modifier for improving the structural and optical properties of the PC matrix.
