This article describes the management of Finnish student welfare from the school social workers´ perspective. The study consists of quantitative (n=683) and qualitative (n=44) data collected from school social workers in spring 2024. The framework consists of structural and symbolic organization frames, which are adequate for studying relation between normative organization structures and the ones constructed from participants´ daily interaction. According to the results through the structural frame, the management of student welfare seems to be recognized fairly clearly, however, further harmonization between operating models is needed. The results through the symbolic frame show that there seems to be uncertainties concerning the line between a community-based student welfare and an individual student support, which can cause needs for clarifying the management of both. Strengthening of collaborative management is discussed.
