This article is the result of the research project "Identification of gender roles and stereotypes in the university: Tools for equality and the elimination of all forms of violence, conducted at Universidad Libre-Pereira. Using a quantitative analytical design was employed through the application of a survey to a purposive sample of 136 students from the Faculty of Law. The study explores the forms of gender-based violence present in the university environment, as well as prevailing gender roles and stereotypes, in order to develop a critical analysis of this issue. The main findings reveal a low number of reported cases of gender-based violence, which could suggest a protective institutional context. However, in the cases identified, attitudes of naturalization and normalization were observed, along with a lack of reporting, which may indicate the existence of underreporting of this problem. Regarding gender roles and stereotypes, those associated with two dichotomies: Rationality/Sensitivity and Autonomy/Submissiveness, showing differentiated prevalences for women and men, with slight shifts. This reflects dominant cultural patterns expressed through micro-machistas within the university setting, revealing the persistence of the patriarchal system despite advances in the gender equality agenda.
