Abstract

Abstract

Jon Mirande was born in Paris in 1925 and learnt Basque during his youth. He soon began writing in Basque, as well as translating literary works from other languages into Basque (Kafka, Poe, Nietzsche…). In addition to poems, short stories and a short novel, he wrote two types of articles: critical articles and articles on subjects of particular interest to him. To understand Mirande's thought, it is essential to take into account the situation of domination experienced by Euskal Herria. He drew on philosophical irrationalism to develop his thought.
