Abstract

Abstract

Transportation and production of high-viscosity oils is one of the important problems in the industry. These oils are usually produced mixed with water, gas, and other impurities, which complicates the transportation process and leads to additional energy consumption. This article examines the role of separators in the transportation of high-viscosity oils. Also, as a result of phase separation, the risk of pressure and corrosion in pipelines decreases, and transportation efficiency increases. The article reviews the types of dynamic loading in the separator, their operating principles and application areas, and also assesses the importance of effective phase separation in the transportation process and economically. The role of the separator in the transportation of high-viscosity oils is very important, since this type of oil often contains water, gas and other high-molecular mixtures, which complicates the transportation process. The separator increases the efficiency and safety of transportation by separating these mixtures. One of the main technological difficulties encountered during the production and transportation of high-viscosity (viscous) oils is the high content of water and free gas in their composition. In this article, the process of preparing high-viscosity oil for transportation using horizontal three-phase separators is analyzed and graphical dependencies during dynamic loading are noted. The study was conducted on a separator unit used in the Muradkhanli high-viscosity oil field, and the effect of the separator’s parameters such as temperature, pressure and flow rate, on transportation was evaluated. To reduce the viscosity of the oil, a hot water dilution method was applied, as a result of which an 18 % reduction in energy consumption was observed in the pipeline. The gas and water separated by the separator application were sent for separate processing, and the quality of the transported oil was improved. The results show that correctly selected separators and auxiliary methods in the transportation of high-viscosity oils can significantly increase the economic and technological efficiency of the transportation process.
