Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive retrospective and analytical study of the fundamental scientific, pedagogical, and academic activities of Academician Huseyn Ahmadov, one of the leading figures of Azerbaijani pedagogical science, highlighting his historical role in the systematization of pedagogy in the republic. The research thoroughly analyzes the scholar's exceptional contributions to the conceptual study of the history of national education, the structuring of classical pedagogical heritage, and the methodological analysis of the Azerbaijani enlightenment and Jadidism movements. The author investigates the unique source-study significance of Huseyn Ahmadov's fundamental textbooks and monographs titled "History of Azerbaijani School and Pedagogical Thought", as well as his innovative scientific insights into the heritage of Nariman Narimanov and K.D. Ushinsky based on extensive archival materials. Furthermore, the scholar's invaluable role in the transliteration and republication of ancient and medieval national textbooks written in the Arabic alphabet is brought into academic discourse. As a result of the study, it is substantiated that the theoretical ideas put forward by Huseyn Ahmadov regarding personality-oriented education, the development of professional competencies of teaching staff, and the humanization of education maintain a deep conceptual synergy with the philosophy of modern educational curricula and progressive educational strategies of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The article possesses significant practical and applied value for teaching the history of pedagogy in higher education institutions and establishing a methodological framework for the research work of master's and doctoral students.
