The interview “Minimal Elegy of the Word: Thinking from the Detour with María Negroni” (conducted by Yuan Zhou in Madrid, 2025) traces a journey through the poetics, ethics, and thought of the Argentine poet María Negroni, who conceives poetry as an act of disobedience against utility and representation: a practice grounded in the fracture of language, the insufficiency of words, and the power of imagination. In this dialogue, she addresses essential themes of her work: childhood, desire, and death (understood as vital forces of writing): childhood as the power of wonder, desire as the intelligence of movement, and death as transformation. The conversation also explores her conception of art as inutensilio (a useless tool), the distance between poetry and politics, intertextuality as restless hospitality, and the need for an affective resistance against the market and patriarchal hierarchies. The text concludes with a reflection on writing as a minimal elegy: a way of thinking from the unsayable and finding in fragility a form of lucidity.
