Covid-19 has had a tremendous impact on many businesses across the sectors. Many pre-Covid-19 business and human resource practices have changed permanently as new employment patterns, consumer habits, and supply-chain relations emerged. The manufacturing sector was not immune to these changes. This study provides evidence from a local survey of manufacturing companies regarding the impact of Covid-19 on the business practices, human resource practices, and training needs of companies to respond to the chaining patterns of doing business in the manufacturing sector. The findings of this study suggest that the magnitude of the impact of Covid-19 on general business practices is mixed. While 90 percent of businesses indicated that Covid-19 impacted their operations, not all are negatively impacted. For many businesses, the cost of doing business has increased due to employment and supply-chain-related issues. However, some businesses benefited from Covid-19 as their business volumes and profits improved substantially.
