Resumen Este artículo se centra en uno de los libros de vanguardia de Ernesto Giménez Caballero: Julepe de menta (1928), y más concretamente en uno de sus apartados, “Cuadrangulación de Castilla”. En él, pese a que está saturado de elementos y vocabulario tecnológico, pretendidamente vanguardista, encontramos un curioso cruce entre la visión prefascista de Castilla, que empieza a abanderar Giménez Caballero en esos años, y la visión que el escritor madrileño ha heredado del Regeneracionismo español, el del 98, especialmente el de Unamuno, y el del 14, en este caso el de Ortega y Gasset.
