Abstract
Abstract
We detailed the synthesis and comprehensive characterization of a novel Schiff base ligand, 3-[(E)-(5-bromo-2- hydroxyphenyl)methylidene]amino)pyridin-4-ol, and its coordination complexes with Cu(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) ions. The ligand was synthesized via one-pot condensation of 5-bromosalicylaldehyde and 3-amino-4-hydroxypyridine and further chelated with transition metal chlorides.
