Abstract
Abstract
This study examines the closure of Agora, once the world's largest darknet marketplace, to investigate how market disruption affects different crime categories. Using panel data and logistic regression, we find heterogeneous effects: the post-closure period of Agora is negatively associated with ransomware incidents but positively associated with human trafficking. These findings carry direct implications for law enforcement strategy and cybersecurity policy surrounding darknet market disruption.
