Abstract
Abstract
Abstract Air conditioning (AC) systems represent one of the major sources of energy consumption in residential and commercial buildings. Integrating intelligent models that utilize occupancy detection enables dynamic control of temperature settings based on real-time human presence, thereby optimizing energy efficiency. This paper reviews some recent advancements in intelligent systems designed to enhance the energy performance of AC devices. It examines a range of technologies and methodologies that support efficient energy use while maintaining occupant comfort. The study also evaluates their impacts on energy consumption, economic benefits, user experience, and environmental sustainability. Three real-world case studies are presented, demonstrating energy consumption reductions of up to 50% through occupancy-based intelligent control. The amalgamation of using intelligent models and occupancy detection has a significant effect to reduce the energy consumption of the AC devices.
