Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a firmly part of Russian election campaigns, used in analytics, text processing, and design. Recognizing certain risks, legislators have imposed restrictions on the use of AI to create images of people in campaign materials. These restrictions affect not only the use of artificial intelligence technologies but, as this article shows, also some traditional approaches to election campaigning.
