In 1908 he left the administration and moved to Krakow – he made a contribution to the development of the Krakow Guild of Merchants. In the years 1922–1930 he was a senior of the organisation. He was the initiator and proposer of many important resolutions (e.g. creation of Jaworzniki Communal Coal Mines, building of houses for workers’ families in the Dębniki district, building of the tomb at the Rakowicki cemetery for legionaries killed at Rokitna). He was authorised to sign economic deals on behalf of the Krakow Council. In 1926 he was the Christian Democrats and National Democrats candidate for the presidency of Krakow. In the years 1923–27 he was a senator for the Krakow voivodship in the Polish Senate of the first term in lieu of the Krakow bishop prince Adam Stefan Sapieha. He was one of the most active senators, engaged in the work of treasury-budget committee; he was its rapporteur and then chairman.
