This essay proposes that the Loa sacramental y en metáfora de las iglesias de Sevilla (1620) was the original loa of the Auto sacramental de Escarramán, recently attributed to Andrés de Claramonte. This can be inferred from the elements of criminal literature inserted in both works: a section of the loa presents the Body of Christ as a persecuted ruffian seeking asylum in the different churches of the city of Seville, and the Auto sacramental de Escarramán dramatises the salvation of Quevedo's jaque, a representation of the Human Genre, by Amor Divino. Furthermore, some intertextualities and the time of writing of the auto sacramental reinforce the hypothesis.
