Abstract
The article analyzes the norms of family and civil law, as well as judicial practice on the recognition of a parent as an unworthy heir due to the lack of care for the child-testator, as well as the lack of his material support. The concept of care and the basis for recognizing a parent-heir as unworthy are revealed. It is proposed to amend the civil legislation on the grounds for recognizing a parent-heir as unworthy.
