Abstract

Abstract

Based on documents of the Kashkadarya Regional State Archive, the article analyses the state of the education system of the city of Karshi in 1941–1955. It covers the activities of general schools during the war and post-war years, student numbers, the composition of the teaching staff and academic performance. It also describes the work of the Karshi Pedagogical College, the establishment of the medical college and the Karshi Teachers’ Institute, and the problems of the material and technical base of schools and preschool institutions.
