Today, in the context of globalization, small businesses and private entrepreneurship play a vital role in the socioeconomic development of all countries. In this period of rapid change, business and entrepreneurship are considered a crucial, strategically important, and priority area of economic reform. The research utilized methods such as historical comparison, systematization, and an interdisciplinary approach. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the following: It has been determined that the small business and private entrepreneurship sector was restored and developed in four important historical periods: firstly, the period of revival of the small business and private entrepreneurship sector and formation of the regulatory framework (1991-1995); secondly, the period of creation of the necessary conditions for the development of small business and private entrepreneurship (1996-2000); thirdly, the period of growth of small business and private entrepreneurship in comparison with previous periods (2001-2016); fourthly, the period of comprehensive support for entrepreneurs in the new Uzbekistan, creation of the necessary conditions for the further development of the sector and the establishment of a new mechanism for working with entrepreneurs' requests (2017-2021).
