The article proposes a re-evaluation of the concept of solidarity through a critical dialogue with Kropotkin and Singer. Although both authors start from very different theoretical frameworks—evolutionary anarchism and contemporary utilitarianism —the text argues that they share a common concern with the biological dimension of cooperation. Against the tendency to draw a sharp separation between nature and politics, the article defends the impossibility of fully evacuating the biological dimension of solidarity without thereby falling into biologicism. It also allows for a reconsideration of the limits of classical biopolitical critique and opens up a space for thinking new articulations between life, ethics, and politics. Through a contrast between mutual aid, effective altruism, and evolutionary theories of cooperation, the article argues that the biological can function as a site for the plastic invention of forms of solidarity grounded in a certain ancestral dimension of the living.
