Resumen Canonizadas como monumento nacional por Franco en 1937, las “gloriosas ruinas” del Alcázar de Toledo son interpretadas, desde la misma derecha, entre la exaltación imperial-religiosa de un José María Pemán en Poema de la Bestia y el Ángel (1938) y el triunfo de la destrucción celebrado por Agustín de Foxá en su proclama vanguardista “Arquitectura hermosa de las ruinas” (1937). A partir de ambos textos, el presente artículo se propone analizar esta variedad de posiciones estéticas con sus respectivas implicaciones ideológicas en el seno del fascismo español, incluyendo referencias al Greco.
