Abstract
This study focuses on the role played by advisors in the seismic retrofit of Kagawa Prefectural Government Office East Building, aiming to gain insights into the preservation of cultural values, their regeneration, and utilization. During the renovation, advisors from various fields provided guidance on texture, appearance, and detailing, as well as emphasized preserving original elements and based on renovation principles. The building’s designation as an Important Cultural Property in 2022 demonstrates that these contributions played a crucial role in preserving its cultural significance while enabling regeneration and continued use.
