The fundamental objective of this research paper is to comprehensively analyze the multifactorial dimensions that obstruct the labor insertion of students and graduates from the Bachelor degrees in Commercialization and Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT), Unidad Académica Multidisciplinaria Reynosa Rodhe, into positions aligned with their professional expertise. Utilizing a mixed-methodological approach with quantitative dominance and a descriptive-correlational scope, a population of recent graduates and senior students was examined. The socioeconomic landscape of the northern Mexican border, specifically in the city of Reynosa, presents a distinctive paradox: a high density of foreign direct investment heavily concentrated within the manufacturing and maquiladora sectors that offers massive employment but leaves a narrow window for specialized economic-administrative positions. The statistical indicators demonstrate that the lack of formal prior professional experience, curriculum misalignment regarding digital analytical skills (such as Power BI and Python), and deficiencies in soft skills development represent the primary individual and institutional structural barriers. Furthermore, corporate recruitment patterns heavily leverage the student status under the current IMSS social security rights to optimize business operation costs, triggering subemployment and professional stagnation within their designated academic disciplines.
