Abstract
The article studied the adequacy of public, scientific, and educational policies in three master's programs at the University of Veracruz: Social Sciences, Animal Science, and Nursing. Pierre Bourdieu's notions of state, field, and habitus were used as a theoretical framework, and a qualitative methodology was applied combining a comparative study and a documentary analysis of 68 documents. Findings show that the implementation of policies requires curricular flexibility and a reorganization of tasks to meet federal guidelines (SNP, SNII, SECIHTI, LGMHCTI). There is evidence of a growing emphasis on achieving social returns in academic and research activities, although tensions persist between academic excellence and territorial impact.
