This article examines work-life balance within the framework of gender equality under Peruvian law. Through a documentary analysis, it reviews the Constitution, current legislation (including Law No. 32535), parental leave policies, teleworking arrangements, and legal doctrine. The findings indicate that—despite the recognition of family protection, formal equality, and shared responsibility—asymmetries regarding motherhood and fatherhood persist, alongside a weak form of flexibility that reinforces traditional roles (Barboza Hurtado, 2019). The study proposes a model of work-life balance based on effective shared responsibility to overcome the triple discrimination faced by female caregivers, fathers whose roles are rendered invisible, and children (Beyá González, 2025). It concludes that while the current framework represents progress, comprehensive reforms and policies are required to significantly mitigate these issues.
