Abstract

Abstract

Background: This study presents the Integrated Military Logistics Systems Methodology (IMLSM), integrating classical and contemporary military logistics principles, Focused and Contested Logistics, the logistics cycle, lifecycle considerations, and analytical decision support for military logistics analysis under varying operational conditions. Methods: IMLSM combines doctrinal, organizational, and lifecycle dimensions with multi-period mathematical optimization and dynamic simulation. Seven guiding principles are formalized: interoperability, automation and measurement, integration, capacity strengthening, life cycle, unity of command, and innovation. Optimization represents logistics flows, inventories, supply quantities, and forward node locations subject to spatial, capacity, coverage, and flow balance conditions. It provides structural information and initial conditions for dynamic simulation. Results: IMLSM provides an integrated architecture linking doctrinal and methodological execution with structural optimization and temporal evaluation. The specified optimization instance was computationally solved, providing network configuration outputs required by the sequential analytical interface. These outputs support subsequent dynamic evaluation under baseline, stress, and high-intensity operational scenarios. Conclusions: IMLSM provides an integrated methodology relating military logistics doctrine, lifecycle considerations, structural optimization, and dynamic simulation. Reported evidence supports the internal functional integration of these components, computational solution of the specified optimization instance, and limited case-specific behavioral validation of the dynamic simulation component.
