Abstract
Abstract
With the 2025 ruling of the UK Supreme Court in For Women Scotland v. Scottish Ministers, Gender Critical Feminist lobbying groups in the UK celebrate yet another legislative victory over what they perceive to be 'Gender Ideology,' a secure for women more protection for 'sex-based rights'. Yet 'Gender Critical Feminists', in opposing a liberal interpretation of the Equality Act, openly oppose gender equality- a key tenant of feminism itself. What are Gender Critical Feminists then? This paper explores the allies, agendas, and key assumptions behind this growing ideology, and applies them to the For Women v. Scotland ruling, in an attempt to explain these 'Feminist' groups use bio-essentialist ideals, and a white-centered sociocultural standpoint to justify limiting equality rights and maintaining oppressive gender hierarchies.
